GREENPEACE'S HIDDEN INTEREST
Dr. C.S. Prakash, plant molecular genetics professor and director of the Center for Plant Biotechnology Research at Tuskegee University, AL, U.S.A. writes: "It is argued misleadingly that consumers globally are demanding the regulation of products, as if products improved through biotechnology are currently regulated in every country where they are grown, and they have been found to be at least as safe as their conventional counterparts. This type of scare mongering is what we've come to expect from groups like Greenpeace.

CAST RELEASES REPORT SHOWING GAINS BIOTECH-DERIVED SOY, CORN, COTTON
WASHINGTON, D.C. The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST), a non-profit consortium of scientists, today released a comprehensive report detailing the environmental safety and environmental benefits of commercial biotechnology-derived soy, corn and cotton crops.

SCIENTISTS APPLAUD LIMITED ACTIVIST SUPPORT FOR GM FOOD AID
Auburn, AL September 5, 2002 - A group of scientists and agriculture experts led by the AgBioWorld Foundation are applauding recent activist statements supporting genetically-modified food aid from the United States, which has been refused by some African leaders despite the risk of millions dying from starvation. The group also challenged these and other activists to act responsibly and stop spreading misinformation about foods grown using biotechnology.
